Sorry that wasn't a very good title but I don't really know how to describe it but to provide a picture. So basically around the edge of the shell are those blackish lines - is that something I need to take note of? Thanks!

Sorry for the bad quality. I will take some clearer pictures (I hope) tomorrow morning when I take them out for feeding.

Well... Only thing I'd think would either be a fungus, or algae.
Does he have a place where he can completely come out and dry off?
Thanks, a closer pic would be nice for the experts, like @Anthony P

Thanks. So here I managed to snap a few while they're not scrambling to get out of my hand. I hope you guys are able to see what I was talking about.

So here is my bigger turtle, and in the middle of the scutes are some black stuff forming. This is at both the shell and the plastron. The middle of her scutes on the top of her shell is silvery grey, so I guess that's normal. But at her spine, the colour of her shell is kinda fading away, like being scratched away.

Her plastron has some pinkish spots, but they come and go for a few days, so I think it shouldn't be septicaemia?

Here is my little guy, his scutes are darker in colour and the lines between them are almost like black already.

His plastron looks similar to the bigger one.

Thanks! They were even cuter when they were smaller :)

And dang. I just realised that the first turtle, the bigger one, has a stong fishy smell :( and sometimes I can hear the sound of breathing, when she is not in water, because I took them out to make sure they completely dry off.

The little guy seems fine, can't hear breathing nor has a strong fishy smell.

Could the bigger one be sick already? :(
