Shrimp loves his pumpkin! Well, at least the little bit of pumpkin slice that we gave him. 20141030_065329.jpg

How do you keep his shell so shiny?

I think a huge part of it is just keeping him in a really humid habitat and daily baths. I also switched his substrate from a coco fiber/topsoil mix to repti-bark. I soaked and rinsed the heck out of the repti-bark before putting it in so there is no dust or dirt in his inside habitat at all. I have used vitashell on him, but only about 3 times and not for several weeks now.

Thanks! Also, what is his daily diet?

I feed him turnip greens, spring mix, grass (seed mix from carolinapetsupply.com) and zoo med grassland tortoise food pellets 2-3 times a week(softened with water and mashed up a little). He gets calcium powder on his food 2-3 times a week, and he has a cuttlebone in his enclosure too that he nibbles on.

Nice progress posts. Keep them coming.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this before, but Shrimp will sound like a funny name for a hundred pound animal. Lol.

11/16 (almost 3 months old): 116 grams! 20141116_113259.jpg

He also spent some time in his new outside enclosure finally. We still have some ants out there and it isn't predator proof yet so we only stayed out for about 15 minutes. 20141116_114220.jpg

And if anybody still cares- my sis-in-law was at our house yesterday. She says that her sulcatas will be getting an outdoor home in the spring. Not perfect or everything they need- but a huge step in the right direction.
