Keep your temps a bit higher for him ( this helps to dry up the mucus) .... but also keep well hydrated with warm multi soaks... Very important! Do not expect him to eat much during these times ......and remember....folks, tortoises can go many weeks with out eating with no ill effects, although they do need fluids to keep from dehydrating.

Hope you have a speedy recovery...........

JD~:)

PS: what was the antibiotics your vet gave your little guy?

You can also ad baby food puréed carrots to his warm water soaks. If he drinks, he will also get some of the food and they can also absorb it.

Yeah do what JD recommended. usually low to mid 80s at a MINIMUM. You can also use canned squash or pumpkin. Respiratory infections usually deplete the electrolytes in tortoises so the vitamin a, salt, and calcium chloride in the canned carrots, squash or pumpkin help in give a little energy back, and boost recovery. Good luck. Would also like to know what antibiotics was prescribed too.
