Simple Tort Set-Up

I am doing another set-up a table right now 6x2. But here is what I began with, which is a very easy inexpensive starter tank. I used a 50 gallon rubbermaid storage container. I have two torts Sulcata (Zayco) and Russian (Zsa Zsa).

That looks really cute, but what kind of substrate are they on?
