Sleeping pattern

Hello i have had my 2 Russian tortoises in my indoor and old outdoor enclosure but for the past 2 weeks or so they have been sleeping when the sun is out and its day ( light inside their indoor enclosure) and being awake when supposed to be at night should i try closing the gate to the indoor hide for a couple days or something because i am worried that they don't get any light right now I hope a fellow tortoise keeper could help someone like myself and if you can't thanks for reading and taking time to listen.

1. Are the lighting fixtures and heating elements set on timers? How many hours on/off?
2. Are these two tortoises housed together?
3. Are feeding and soaking times given roughly the same every day/other day?
4. How many feeding dishes and hide boxes do you have per enclosure?
