Smart tortoise ranking

The larger species like galop and aldab, are more tuned in to their keeper, making them appear smart, but I don't see them problem solving.

I feel like tortoise species that show more curiosity, personality and interest in humans are seen as more intelligent, even though that isn't necessary the case. Really, it also depends on what you think intelligence means.

I don't have much experience with other tortoises, but our Hermanns, Zola, is very interested in everything he sees - people and places,- and we encourage that by trying to give him a varied life. He is very alert, and seems to enjoy new situations, but how much he actually understands is impossible to judge. I don't know that his problem solving abilities would be great, though.
