This morning I saw a snake right next to the turtle pen. And I know I shouldn’t pick and choose but I really don’t want snakes hanging around. Anyway to detour them from the pen?
You aren't the only one with that question. Snakes are just one, on the laundry list of potential predators I'm trying to keep in mind when designing an outdoor enclosure for a young GCBT.
I really don't know if there is a good answer, at least one that actually works, to discourage snakes from hanging out by the turtle pen. The best suggestion I can come up with right now is to keep the area around the turtle pen mowed (and fairly short), so it wouldn't be as inviting or as easy to hide in.
