So...This Happened

A good friend of mine I've done dog rescue with in the past sent me a text.

I rolled my eyes, not because of her she's awesome, but I have no room for another dog. Turns out it was something "up my alley "


Wasn't a joke. So after a long day, I hopped in my car, drove a few miles and picked up this beautiful sulcata.

Mind you I'm not the biggest guy, but I was the only young one out there. So after educating the small crowd, I hauled this big girl a few feet to my car, put her on the back seat and drove her home.

She's in perfect condition, and I know someone misses her, so I'll keep her to my best ability until the owners claims her. Until then, I have to make a dig proof sulcata enclosure tomorrow...yay.

Nearly perfect. I know someone is missing her, but no one has replied to any of the ads myself or the surrounding community put out.

They could be out of town and not have a clue. Then some people are just wanting her to have a big tort, but she has a place to stay in the meantime where she can't dig out.

Found the owner. I guess the guy doesn't check on his torts daily. Hopefully I can get this girl home tomorrow, but I'm not driving miles to his home

REUNITED. Well, owning a sulcata for a few days was nice.

Nice elderly gentleman.Turns out she'd been work on a deep tunnel for a few years to get out. Glad I got to her. So may people wanted to just keep her to say they have a big tortoise, but I knew this guy cherished her.

Well, looks like he lost her again.

I did, but I guess she blew through the neighbors fence this time

It only took him a night to respond to my text this time. So we are improving. Hopefully she pops up. We're out of the cold nights, but people here drive like idiots.
