i do love that doors idea, i dont know if id be able to do that though. ive been getting too overwhelmed with planning and figuring out how long each piece of wood needs to be and such. not really used to this kind of stuff.I started building a 4x8x2 viv a few weeks back. My plan is to do exactly what you said with heat. I've had to stop the project for a while due to other jobs I have going on in the house. This is a rough sketch of what I'm doing. The doors are angled so to reduce air space to be heated, and this way substrate doesn't get stuck at the front like on standard vivariums.View attachment 201537

Yes you can just take domes off with some types. What ever you use be sure they are ceramic sockets and not plastic for CHE's. Sounds good.
In regard to the ceramic fixture for lights or CHE's make sure the wattage rating is less than the wattage of the light or CHE you intend on using.will do! im still trying to figure out a sealer but im having no luck.
any reason for that?In regard to the ceramic fixture for lights or CHE's make sure the wattage rating is less than the wattage of the light or CHE you intend on using.
Am I misreading this? The ceramic fixture wattage rating should be HIGHER than the bulb wattage, right? If Fixture is rated for 200 watts then bulb rated at 150 watt is good. Right? In regard to the ceramic fixture for lights or CHE's make sure the wattage rating is less than the wattage of the light or CHE you intend on using.
