So soapy water is supposed to be a natural way to get rid of bugs and my mom wants to put it on the hibiscus plant that I feed the torts from. Do y'all think this is okay?

Soap isn't necessarily a "natural" way. You could probably look up true natural remedies to get rid of bugs or insects.

Also....need to know what type of bugs you are trying to get rid of??? Soap can kill a plant as well as bugs...it also can contaminate the soil...so have to be careful how much you use and of what kind...sometimes the bugs are actually a helpful mate to the tort in that it removes and decomposes foul stuff to keep the soil actually healthier...

I have no idea what kind of bug it is.. It's pretty big and has like a black patch with spots. I will try and get a picture of it tomorrow, it shouldn't be hard there are a million.
