I don't have a sully, but a leopard. I buy it probably once a week. However, I mix it with 2-3 other greens and feed handfuls daily. Plus he gets to graze every day.

I feed it once every week or two. I mostly feed them grass, leaves, weeds and cactus pads.

I give it daily, but chopped up and mixed with reconstituted salad-style hay (combo of Timothy hay and orchard grass.) My little sully eats it up. Alone it's not that great a food for them since they need more roughage than any combo of lettuces can provide.

You have the right idea here. "Salad Style" is a great way to go for people who have a tough time finding real grass and weeds.

Hey Cowboy Ken!
We are in Central Oregon where it is quite abit drier than Silverton. Lots of desert type weeds. This is our first time owning a sulcata. Do you keep yours inside during winter if they are larger tortoises or do you have a heated outside enclosure for bad weather?

I never feed it. I'm in the PNW where weeds grow to Jurassic proportions.

This will be the year the bigger Sulcatas get to be outside in heated shed during the winter. They are so happy about it. The russians tub up in an unheated but above freezing tub in the winter. They bury down in the substrate and grass hay I get from Eastern Oregon.
