Well figure I would feed Tony some spaghetti squash tomorrow as we ride out the storm..Only problem is I don't know how to cook it...

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to cook the spaghetti squash for Tony??

Thanks in advance

I would not feed him squash. Just give him a big pile of greens. The squash might give him runny poop.... In your house!!! Ewww!! Also if you don't feed him for a day, he will be fine. Sulcata's are known for eating everything in sight so if you can keep him contained while he is inside it will be the best thing for him.

Peel it, cut it in 1" cubes and steam it. I have not fed mine spaghetti squash, but I do feed them butternut, yellow squash and zuccini and no runny poo as of yet. But like Erin said and Murphy's law you never know until it happens! Runny poo inside is bad news! Good luck!

I was given two GIGANTANORMOUS zuccinis today from my mom, her friend has a garden and gave her these GIGANTANORMOUS things....I think tomorrow I will give a few slices to the guys and see what they think? Good thing is that this lady is willing to give me all the squash and zuccini leaves and other vegetable top leaves and goodies as well....she is totally organic so this really rocks, just wish it was a little earlier in the tortoise season to take full advantage LOL, but I will take what I can get.... :D

Do you believe steaming is required? I totally plan to slice em thin and give small amount to the guys?????? hmmmm?

I don't steam the zuccini or the yellow squash. The winter squashes like butternut, spaghetti and acorn are much more dense. Lou eats the zuccini and yellow squash raw just fine! Yummy!!! Butternut though is by far everyone's favorite even the babies!

You gotta try it!!

Bowser loves her yellow squash almost as much as hibiscus flowers. I just cut it up a little and she eats it just fine :)

I feed zucchini and yellow squash, among many other things, when indoors. The health of my animals seems fine. I do not cook their food.

I will cut and microwave dense winter squash (and feed cooled, of course), but as for the summer type squash, RV likes it "as is"...

For smaller torts, I grate it. For bigger torts, I just feed it whole and raw.

Well nuked it and let it cool and served it up... Man he couldn't eat it quick enough..he also ate quite a bit of orchard grass..This morning solid poop as always...

I'm just starting to wonder is he is over eating...Because he never seems satisfied??
