This is my enclosure for a seven month old star tortoise. It's 90x45x45 cm and provided with a cool and warm side (left side is cool, right side is warm). A basking bulb of 100Watt, a CHE, and uvb tube 5.0. Lots of plants so they can hide (two fakes, one real that's biological so without pesticides) , I also sometimes plant some grasses (on these pictures some cats ear) for if I'm away for a longer time to provide some fresh food for them. There are two hides, one on each side, a terracotta water bowl and a terracotta food bowl. Hopefully this gives you an impression, if you have any questions feel free to ask them!

Thanks for the post.
When your stars grow, do you plan on keeping them in a closed chamber cage? Or are you going to build your own?

what are the best type of enclosures you feel for stars to thrive? I did see online that they thrive in dry climates if it’s an indian star and bermese star thrive in humidity.
Is your star a regular indian or bermese?

The care info for both star species is all wrong. The "dry" season over there features humidity of 60-80%, so says one of our members who lived over there for years. The "wet" season when it rains is 80-100% humidity. Both species need a closed chamber with high humidity and high temperatures. They like it hot.

Yes, I would keep mine in a closed chamber, of course a bigger one, but otherwise I wouldn't be able to maintain both the temperature and humidity, as the temps and humidity from were I live aren't suitable for a star tortoise to thrive. Probably going to build an enclosure ourselves, but that are plans for the future. When I start to built my own chamber, I would probably gather all the necessary tips and tricks on this forum haha.

I've an Indian star, but as Tom mentioned, the care is the same from what I've read. I've used the caresheet on this forum as a guideline for my terrarium. So the humidity is always around 90%, basking spot 39 C, during the day the overall temperature is around 30 C and at night 27 C, I use the CHE to keep the temperature high.
