My new 2 month old Indian Star has a soft/squishy shell. Are hatchlings supposed to be like that? Or is it an early sign of MBD?

Is it like a sponge? Or gives some push back like a Tupperware container lid?

How long have you had him? MBD takes more than 2 months to develop and hatchlings do have softer shells that will harden up very soon. If he’s eating, pooping, and given the proper care I’d just keep an eye on it.

I’ve had him for a few days. He just recently pooped. He ignores all greens I offer. The only thing he’s ate is a couple bites of Mazuri yesterday. Other than that he is bright eyed, and extremely active.

Eating takes time in a new home so no worries there. I chopped up my guys greens really small then rubbed the soaked Mazuri on them to coat them.
