Hi i have a russian tortoise. I am currently using repta bark for a substrate. Does any one have any idea what is the best for them?

Hi Scott:

Russian tortoises like to bury themselves, so something they can dig into is good.

If you have a spot out in the yard that hasn't been sprayed or fertilized, you can dig up some dirt for substrate. Or lots of folks use coconut coir.

There really isn't a "best." Its just whichever one you like for your tortoise.

Thanks cant wait to put him outside too cold here now though.
