Hey there I'm very new... I have loose coconut fiber subtrate and 100% natural Cypress mulch...can I just mix the 2 equal? Add moisture... Trying to figure this all out I need to get some special bulbs I understand and nothing red... I do have a bulb but it's a heat bulb I just don't know what kind it is it was given to me along with the tortoise...

No need to mix substrates, but no harm in mixing two or more safe substrates either.
What species and size tortoise are we talking about? We can give you all the correct care and lighting info once we know that. Also, where is Newbury?
