Greetings!

I’m attaching the “How to” care sheet that you want to jump on and follow, especially on the set-up of your enclosure. The standard “tortoise table” is really NOT the way you want to go since you will find it very very difficult to maintain proper heat & humidity levels.

Good luck!

Most of the care info out in the world for this species is all wrong. Its been wrong for decades and people just keep repeating it. FB ad YT are particularly bad, but pet shops, vets and most of the people who breed them aren't much better.

There are two critically important details to get right if you want to have a healthy baby and a positive tortoise keeping experience.
1. Buy from the right source. Almost no one starts them correctly. We can point you in the right direction.
2. Babies need monsoon conditions. Warm and humid. This is what they hatch into in the wild. This is NOT a desert species and dry conditions are bad for them. Get a closed chamber. It will make your life easier and the tortoises life far better.

That care sheet will spell it all out and questions are welcome.
