Hi everybody , I am an owner of a sulcata tortoise and he’s private area seems to be stuck and not able to go back in, I have tried sugar soaks and keeping it moist however it’s still not gone back I called the vets and they said to just keep soaking him however I’m getting concerned. I have taken a photo and looks as if he’s tail is stuck behind it would anybody be able to advise me on what to do. Thankyou

A qualified reptile vet is going to need to do a penectomy, and soon. That necrosis is a bad deal. It can kill your tortoise.

Oh man! I'm sorry to say that looks bad. The end of the penis has died, and as Tom as said, has turned necrotic. This will have to be amputated. Only a vet can help you now. Try to find a vet who is familiar with and well versed in tortoise anatomy.

You should be able to find a qualified tortoise vet there in London, I hope!
