Terracotta granite/basalt safe?

hi! I’m wondering if anyone has used these granite/basalt terracotta pots over the standard orange ones? Google says The distinct colours come from utilizing different source clays or blending unique mineral sediments before high-firing the pots. But I’m curious if others have used them for water without problems.

I don’t know if colour matters. Watch out for stickers though. They tend to leave a glue residue or stain on the saucers that can be very difficult or nearly impossible to remove.

Sorry, I've only used the plain old orangey ones.

I didn't know there were other types clay pots. Again, I would err on the side of caution and stick with the orangey ones that I know to be safe, even though the white might look fancier or look more interesting in the enclosure. What sorts of metals or minerals does the white clay contain? (It would be really sad if it had arsenic or something else nasty in it - or fell apart if water sits it for half a day...) One thing with white and these little dirt machine tanks... How long will the white continue to look nice? (My middle initial is "L" for Lazy. Yes, I scrub the ones I've got every day, but they only look a little smudgy with walked down greenery and the occasional poop ground into them. It seems like white ones might be twice the work in no time.)

Our granite is rusty-colored, not white. And I thought Basalt was black and shiny (though it used to be a fun town over near Aspen...)


Let's hope one of the wise elders knows something about this. Maybe send up signal flares if this doesn't catch some opinions soon.
