I'm using pettex pellet and 50/50 topsoil & sand but I'll be changing that to just topsoil with straw as the bedding.

It's just finding the best substrate for Zeus. All the information given on here is great but everyone is totally different. What would you recommend?

hi untill i get the che light could i leave my basking light on during night just so he doesn’t get cold i have a redfoot?
That is not ideal, but it's fine for a day or two. You also need a thermostat to control the CHE. They can be purchased from Amazon for $20-30. DOn't get the heating and cooling one. Get the heating only type, or one that allows two different temps for day and night.

It shouldn't get too hot or too cold. You have to check these things with a thermometer and make sure temperatures are where they are supposes to be.

By and chance do you have a link or what brand for the thermostat?

It changes constantly. It's usually some wired Chinese name you've never heard of. Best to just look them up and pick one that suits your needs. I think my most recent ones have been "BN Link", but I run lots of them and have lots of different ones.
