This morning I took my two baby sulcatas on their first ever outdoor expedition! I put together a simple contraption to keep them in a stable environment while away from the tortoise table.
The contraption is just a one gallon ice cream bucket without the lid, plastic food wrapping covering the top, a soaked paper towel to line the sides of the bucket, and some fresh pulled grass and weeds to keep them comfy!
I first took them outside in their bucket because I was afraid of predators around my area (faclons, crows, rats etc.). But after a while outdoors I released them into my neighbors yard (which has a sucata so I knew they didn't use pesticides). They ran around with me seriously hovering over them to protect them from the predators. I was so paranoid about them being outside and getting snatched by a faclon!
After I took them into my front yard which didn't have grass, but a rocky area with patches of plants around the front yard. Both of them ran straight for a patch to sleep under since it was early in the morning and humidity was good under the patch. After watching them sleep for a while, they woke up and started to explore again. At that time I took them back in and put them in their little tortoise table. Their first ever expedition was a success! A lot better than the Survey Corp from Attack on Titan haha!
