The Runs

My 5 month sulcata had the runs this morning. I don't know if it was because i was holding him facing upward so he was straining alot because I was cleaning his back side with a q-tip or if there is something wrong. Please Help!

Has anything in his diet changed? Did you happen to give him anything recently that was different from your normal diet for him (fruit, etc)? Do you know when he went to the bathroom last before this time and how was that consistency (not to be specific, but could help us help you)? Does everything else seem fine? Also, is he indoors or outdoors?

Why were you cleaning his backside with a Q-Tip? My tort "goes" a lot when nervouse.

With puppies stimulating their butts will cause them to go weather they are ready or not ..

That would be my guess if you had him picked up and were [messing with him ]..

Sounds like a nervous poo to me too. They have a loose one once in a while. Just watch to see that they go back to normal over the next few days.

Like Christy said, has anything else changed? Does everything else seem okay?

Nothing in his diet has changed. He is an indoor tortoise and I was cleaning his bottom because he gets poo stuck to his tail sometimes.
