They spin in the egg.. for Jackrat

You've heard me say they spin in the egg..

Like a can-opener they spin in the egg and "pip" the top of the egg off!

PLUS it's another one of those 170 some days incubating!!!

Why for Jackrat? This is my Alpha female "hatchling" I raised up who laid this egg.. and Jeff acquired her earlier this year - he calls her "Squeeze".

Usually when they "spin" like this they don't have a huge yolk-sac.. we'll see.

I've never seen that before. My sulcatas and leopards just stick their head out of the one spot where they pip. Then a leg. Then they sort of spin around cutting the egg shell in half. I've never seen one spin inside the egg and pip it in several places like that. Very cool. Thanks for the pics.
