Is there any way to guess a tortoise age . I got mine as saves when they were all over 30 lbs with no history .

This is my "weed garden" u can't tell in the picture but it's at the top of a 8 foot brick wall about 60 feet long by 3 feet . We just keep throwing seeds up there and let it grow .no vegetables right now will plant again next month .

At 30lbs they're usually in the 8 to 10 year range.

I have heard that you can count the rings on the scutes...just like you would a tree....it may not be accurate...but it can be a good guesstimate.

I'd guess them 9 or 10 years old now. Nice looking tortoises. I love the weed platter and the weed growing area too. Very cool.

Thank you. With four this big it was getting expensive to buy greens and vegetables so we started growing a lot.

It may have ended up being a bit of an accident, but I love Sarah for a boy!

They came in a wild flower mix we planted a couple of years ago . They still come up every year as do some of the we flowers
