I showed my hubby this pic and said wouldn't you like a little turtle. He looked at it and then looked away. Which was not a 'no'.Last one for now, but this picture has great detail of Bold doing another periscope impression.

You can actually see the lines on Bold's plastron where the two hinges are on a three-striped mud turtle.
Carol, I don't know what turtles you have access to in South Africa, but there are a couple African sideneck turtles (mud turtles) that are quite personable and don't get very big...Oh I am loving this thread. I am almost tempted to get a turtle. [emoji6]

Yep: The eternal challenge!!!!I have been seeing the tiny turtles basking, out of the water on top of the artificial log and artificial rock structure... but as soon as I try to get a picture... SPLASH!
