@ Vinnie I am using a 100W PowerSun bulb. I'm sure you could rig some way to lower the light fixture if you wanted it closer. I just made it so that the humid hide has an upper section w/ a basking rock to make it closer to the bulb. Plus this way you don't lose any real estate with a regular hide that they can only walk into.

Thanks. That sounds like a great idea. Your basking/uvb spot is really pretty close to 12 inches then. I am going to start looking for one. I really really like it!!!

In the ceiling does it have just the one space for one light or does it have more than one? And does it have a fixture for a tube light.

It only comes with one installed, but there is access for additional lighting if you want to add on. I was thinking of putting a grow bulb in to add some live plants into the mix.

What kind is he and how big will he get?

He is a yearling GPP leopard tort. I'm guessing on his adult size but from what I've seen I'm guessing anywhere from 12"-24" and around 20-30lbs. We will see.

Vinnie...maybe you wanna consider a 160W or attaching one of these to the celiing of the enclosure!?!?

Thanks for the link Dean. So far I'm happy with the heat I'm getting w/ the 100W but we will see come January and February. I've had a couple of buddies who used the panels for other reptiles and love them. Maybe that will be the next upgrade!

I was wondering if you could tell me how you wired the light lol
I am going to use the pretty much exact same technique in the new cage that I am building for my own GPP that I am buying from Tom. but I am not really sure how all the wiring works. I know you can wire it to a light switch and then you have to wire that to some sort of power box or something.... any help you could give me would be awesome

This is just a simple 2 wire setup, live/ground. As far as a light switch and power box, I'm not that complex.

Go to home depot buy:
-ceramic light fixture (associated wiring)
-24hr timer
-power strip (if multiple lights/humidifier are to be plugged in)

That easy, I try to keep things simple. I'm sure it's a little more complex for an outdoor enclosure but along the same lines.
