This male radiated became very territorial and aggressive today when a man entered his environment (the back yard, lol). It was funny, however kinda concerning. The man was contracted to put a small roof on a new shelter when this male radiated continually began to ram his boots and equipment. Honestly, he has never displayed this type of aggressive behavior in the past. I decided to lock him up while the man was putting on the roof. Now the funny part, he actually pouted the entire time he was in "jail". When the man was finished and left the area i had released him from the lock out pen and he walked the perimeter as if he was tracking or trying to hunt him down.

Neat story. I have similar experiences with members of other tortoise species.

My three year old Gpp are into this now. This behavior rotates through 4 of them, with only one being the "bossy" one at a time.

This is common behavior in the adults I have been around. They more less see humans as food, one has to be careful not to step on them when your stormed by a radiata invasion from all fronts.

Or they just have a shoe/foot fetish...

Cool story, the guy needs to bring food next time. My biggest radiated did this when I stuck my hand in the enclosure when they were eating pumpkin
