Tortise eyes

My tortoise occasionally Has white runny matter in his eyes. Is this normal or not?

Are there any othe symptoms? Like swollen eyes or eye rubbing? Can you post a photo of the eyes?

When it's chilly outside and my sulcatas come out of their heated house sometimes their eyes will do that. I've always thought it was caused by temperature change.

He doesn't have any other symptoms. He's a sulcate who lives in a burrow. I thought it might be a dirt irritation. It doesn't happen all the time. I will try to get a photo.

All year round in a burrow in Scottsdale is too cold for sulcatas and Len B is probably right.

If you want to keep your tortoise healthy - consider building a heated/insulated night box (like this one: https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/single-tortoise-night-box.181515/).
