Do these kinds of foods need to be moistened for the redfoots to show any interest at all? Colorful.....smells good???

I would definitely moisten it. My tortoises definitely prefer moist food to any dried leaves they end up with.
I agree. I can't think of a single dry thing that my Redfoot like to eat. Except the occasional dry Mazuri 5M21 pellet.
They are also drawn to bright colors and especially Red and Yellow.
I'm not sure if smell factors in to it but I assume it does.
I'd moisten it and mix it in with whatever I was feeding.
I'm sure that growing live tropical flowers in west Oregon is more difficult than it is in south east Florida
