I had two questions
A tortoise hide should be humid but dry substrate and the place where he’ll probably retire to...
Is this right?
But then if it is a closed box kinda with an entrance should I be sure that there’s enough ventilation?
I mean if there is a box with an entrance to I’ll he be able to breathe properly
I have also seen doggie doors that close once tort is in and open when he wants to
That closes him in completely ...will he breathe properly?
Secondly how high should it be? Double his height?

thanks a lot toddrick
also what are your views about a moving doggie door?
I saw one of the members doing that and felt that it was a good idea
The door is only necessary for outdoor hides where it gets cooler. The purpose is to hold heat inside. Indoors in your enclosure it's not necessary but go for it if you wanted one. Also for substrate I use either Cypress mulch or Orchid bark.
