I have this tortoise and still haven’t checked at the vet what exact species it is, it has spurs on it thighs so it must be from Testudo greaca. But what subspecies it is I have no clue if anyone wants to have a guess. It’s 1 year old.

Welcome to the forum!

I can't help with your subspecies question, but I am sure someone will come along soon. But I do see some pyramiding, can you tell us how you are housing the tortoise?

Hi, yes of course!!

He was owned by my little brother at first up until 3 months ago right now he lives in an open box with a dirt and sand mixture substrate. He has a little humid hide that I made for him which I keep at 50% humidity. He has access to clean water every day and I feed him either endive, romaine salad, dandelion flower and pellets with calcium powder. His basking spot is at 40 degrees Celsius, the bulb I use is an exoterra bulb all in one with heat and uv light.

Feedback would be appreciated as I wish the best for my little tortoise<3

For a smaller tortoise like yours a closed chamber is recommended to achieve stable temperatures and humidity.

Sand can cause an impaction and irritation risk. The three preferred substrates are Coco coir, orchid fir bark and cypress mulch.

All in one bulbs are not recommended anymore for tortoises. Look into getting a separate heat and UVB bulb. For the heat bulb get an incandescent flood bulb and for UVB get a tube light from one of the reliable brands like Arcadia or ZooMed.
