okay now what about if he sleeps with his face up against his log??? every night he is laying like that and i cant understand how he is comfortable like it.
The spread eagle position is usually done while basking and is called the Sun Worship position.
As for sleeping, they look for places that make them feel safe and secure from predators. My guys prefer to sleep in piles of sticks or in shallow digs they make under stuff.
My Marginated always sleeps in the same position. He is in his hide, with his head stretched out and turned sideways. My Russian is the queen of variety. She will sleep in her hide sometimes. Sometimes she stretches out and sometimes she likes to sleep with her head against the glass in a way that looks like she should wake up with a sore neck. Other than on her rocks, I can't think of anywhere else I haven't seen her bunker down for the night in her cage.
