Tortoise sleeping for the night

I just joined this forum earlier and have already asked lots of questions and received very good advice.

Advice I got was light should be on for 14 hours. I have only been keeping mine on for 12 hours.

My tort wakes up at 8 when I put light on but seems to go for its night time sleep aroubd 5.30/6 n that's him till morning. Do i still need to keep light on when in bed sleeping in hide.

Welcome put the light on a timer then you don't need to worry about it.
