We haven't had power in the past three days due to the fact the freezing rain caused some trees to take out powerlines. Nothing has yet to be done, but we managed to get a generator. These guys are just "chilling" in the pond with no problem. They're surprisingly active despite the freezing temps, but I ran the hose to the pond to oxidize the water.

That is wicked!

They are moving under the ice? Are they coming up for air?

that is wild.......I had a 2.5' (deepest point) concrete pond for 20 years, some years, I was convinced was frozen solid but the guys always came up in the Spring.....we never saw them under the ice though! This is A 1ST FOR ME!

Thanks DD.....one of the downsides of getting old is that it's harder to find those "First times"...............you just gave me a little gift!

My pleasure! And they do move around. I haven't seem them come up for air on super cold days, but maybe in the 40's
