I made a two-story tortoise table. I personally hadn't seen a design like this, so I figure it might be inspirational for someone in a similar situation.
It serves more functions than you might think.
- My other larger tortoises that live on the ground floor of the shed can hide below the tortoise table.
- Each 'level' is about 0,8m x (2,44+0,8) = 2,6m2 or 28 sq feet.
- Each 'level' can be split into two, to separate the couples when necessary.
The entire shed is insulated and heated. Just in case it isn't obvious, I'm aware that its missing UV-B lighting, substrate, hides, ... and partically cover the top of the table to manage humidity.
I will be using it to keep two adult pairs of Testudo kleinmanni tortoises.
I'm also experimenting with that hay feeder for the Aldabra's. The strings are a suspended array of UVB lights that I can raise when working in their enclosure, otherwise they hang at floor level.
