So we purchased and started feeding both our Sulcata's Mazuri on April 7th with the intentions of it just being another option to grocery store greens. I had no expectations on how they would like it.

So right now Vegas get's Dean's tort lasagna in the a.m. and some greens or cactus in the evening and he get's to graze all he wants. While Tejas get 1-2 pieces of Mazuri, cactus and spring mix and when he goes outside he eats a little grass.

I weighed and measured them both before they started the Mazuri.
Vegas: 18" long and 24.6 pounds
Tejas: 2" long and 45 grams

I weight and measured them both today
Vegas: just shy of 19" and 30.4 pounds
Tejas: just shy of 3" and 77 grams

I was worried about the growth that Vegas has put on and after asking Dean, he said it's just a growth spurt. I am watching them closely and if I see the growth aftecting there shell's I will adjust the amount of Mazuri they get...

Here are a few photo's of them....

Vegas loves when he gets misted while he is basking in the sun..

Growing seems great, very well fed

We have a little bit of store greens and after that everything will be grown in our garden, they will have a wide variety..

Once they hit the 6-8" mark, what's done is done. The pattern for growth is already set and well established. I don't think you need to worry about Vegas' growth anymore. All sulcatas start to smooth out at about his size so I think all your new growth will look great regardless of the speed at this point.

Tejas' growth seems just about right for a healthy, thriving baby. He looks good.

Thanks Tom, I did not know that about the 6-8" mark, I'm always worried about over doing things when I am trying something new..
