UV Over Head Canopy?

Hi all! :)

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

I'm just wanting to know if any of you use a UV canopy for your Tort enclosures? I currently have a UV tube fixed to the side of the Tort table but I've read that they are much better over head? Can anyone tell me if that is correct?

I have a two year old Horsfield Tortoise in a 4x2 Tort Table! (picture of current set up attached)

Thanks very much :)

You mean like used for fish tanks with coral?
You might need a UV Meter to make sure that the height is not too high. UV lights aren't as effective at bigger distances. You could hang them from the canopy. I think that strip lights would need to be pretty close.
For your small enclosure I'd use an 18" strip with either a 5.0 or 10.0 florescent. (I'm not sure what's best for your species.)
