Vacation?

Hello I have a Russian tortoise and I'm going on vacation can I leave the lights on. For 2 days?

I would put them on some sort of thermostat there's too much danger of overheating with them on for 2 days straight.

@dmmj Has the right idea, a $10 timer will make it so you don't have to worry about the lights again. :)

Your lights should be set on a timer anyway. This way the "sun" rises and sets at the same time everyday in your indoor enclosure.

I would set the timer for 12-13 hours this time of year.

Even though I'm retired and home all the time, I still have all my tortoise lights on timers. And even though they're automatic, I still go out and around to every tortoise shed and habitat to make sure everything is ok. But, if for any reason I'm not available, I can rest assured that lights will go on and off on their own.

I keep my tort in a 3 by 5 table, does that make a difference or not
