Hey all!
I am looking to build an outdoor pond for my reeves turtle. Its my first turtle. I live in Las Vegas and the Summers can get quite hot. 110F-115F approximately. I am planning to build in some shaded areas but its still pretty hot in the shade. I dont want to hurt my turtle and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the reeves turtle. Are turtles smart enough to remove themselves from a basking area in direct heat if it gets too hot? Can they survive comfortably outdoors in the desert heat ok? Also any idea for a build design or any tips, tricks and photos of other outdoor turtle ponds would be much appreciated.
