wasnt sure where to post... are these safe?

Thry are very prickly. I would be concerned about eye damage. I have one like these and seem to get prickles in me every time I go anywhere near it.

My start tortoise once knock down a pot of these cactus on the ground and ate half of it. lucky nothing happened to her

i've read so many horror stories on i here im over cautious with everything now, but better to be that way i guess!

They're not toxic, however I would think it might end up being an eye hazard in a contained enclosure.
