Hello, is it ok to feed sulcatas watermelon. The rind and the fruit once a month? they are 5 years old.

I would say it’s safe, but don’t feed occasionally. For hydration purposes

I think its too high in sugar. It won't make them drop dead, but I don't think it is a good food. I don't feed it to any of mine.

Tortoise's digest system is not design to consume high sugar. It will cause them diarrhea and cause some further problems

I'm sure this is a common misconception because half of the Sulcata pictures on the internet show one eating some fruit.
