Western hermann tortoise hibernation

Hi everyone. I will be getting a western hermanns tortoise (Tuscany) and I was just wondering if it needs to hibernate? I will be keeping him indoors and getting him as a hatchling.

Torts hidernate in the wild because of a shortage of food . But in captivity they don't have to hibernate ( or bernate how ever you spell it )
