What is this red spot on the bottom??

Hey! I have a sulcata tortoise named peewee who us around 3-4 months old. I've noticed on the plastron that there are red spots. Is this normal??

That is where the yolk sac used to protrude out. If the breeder skipped the brooder box stage, and most of them do, this sort of thing can happen. Not really anything you can do now other than offer optimal conditions.

What is more worrisome is that if the breeder didn't know to do the brooder box, they probably also skipped the daily soaks and necessary warm humid conditions that hatchlings require to remain healthy. How many grams is your baby at 3-4 months old, and how long have you had it? Does it still have an egg tooth at the tip of its snout?

Here is the current and correct care info. Please check these out as most of the care info found out in the world from most sources is all wrong. Questions are welcome:

Thank you! I appreciate it! I have no clue how to take care of this poor baby :( I dont have a scale to weigh them either. I've been making sure to soak them on a daily basis.

My mom gave him to me in december, it was from one of her clients who gave it to her for free.
