what species is my tortoise

:tort:hi im new to this. iinherited a tortoise which i was told was an african spur thigh. but iv now been told that its a hermanns or a marginated i hope someone can help. thankyou. i think iv uploaded a photo but i cant see it.554313_3718331326629_1526150744_33250736_864918428_n.jpg

Looks like a hermanns and a very pretty one at that.

I think you have an Ibera Greek. I think whoever told you its an african spur thigh meant to say just spur thigh tortoise.

Out of curiosity are there spurs on the hind legs? (I'm not expecting them).

Post a plastron picture - a picture of the undershell, hind legs and tail - for us to see please :)

i cant see any but shes not got a pointy tail eithr

I'm not an identifier of any means but it doesn't look like a Spur Thigh from what I've seen. However, what a beautiful tortoise, it's shell is gorgeous!

Hi and welcome! I doubt the reason for the inheritance of the tortoise was a happy one, but are you happy to have the tortoise itself?

it was my daughters and she bought a caravan so isnt in her house enough to look after her. so nothing drastic really. im happy with her just scared of not doing things right

One of my tortoise is pretty similar to yours and I have been told she is a hybrid Greek/Marginated.
I posted some pictures of mine already and I am waiting to see if someone can identify her!!!
This forum is full of Tortoise expert and someone will be able to tell you the species!!!
