I just brought my little guy to the vet Friday and he got a clean bill of health. I noticed the blue circled area this morning after his morning soak. The larger spot has been there since I got him and was the absorbed yolk sac.I have the appropriate light, humidity, temperatures, and he is eating and pooping as normal. I have just heard conflicting things as to what this could be.

Thank you!IMG_6788.jpeg

Those look like abrasions to me, both the circled spot and the bigger one to the right.

If it was my tort, I'd scrub the area gently with a toothbrush and some white vinegar, rinse it off with warn water, dry it off, and spread a dab of triple-antibiotic ointment... repeating a week later.

I also think that if the tort is healthy and environmental conditions are all what they should be, that they tort's plastron will heal up on its own.

Thank you so much. I will do that. I have a rough kind of surfaced log hide in there that he will occasionally climb on and loves to use it to hide under, so I wonder if that's what did it.

I agree with most of this. I would treat daily with a light wash of just water and apply the ointment, and continue until cleared up.
Don't need an infection or shell rot.
Also try to find the cause of the abrasions.

Looks like the start of shell rot to me.
