Yes, that is a Mercury Vapor Bulb and puts out UVB as well as heat. The Solar Glo is cheaper than the other brands, and not many of us here on the forum have tested it, so you don't hear us talk about this brand too much. I think a lot of us use the Zoo Med Power Sun or the Mega Ray, and they cost about twice as much as the Solar Glo.
I've always been afraid to try it because it IS so much cheaper. Makes me wonder why and if its any good.
I ddon't have any experience with this bulb....am I understanding correctly that it is a mercury vapor bulb? What type of tortoise and how old is your tortoise? I am sure someone here has or uses the bulb...so wait around a bit and see...

If you can get the powersun for 38 I would do that over the solar glo. You also get a one year warranty with the bulb so keep your warranty card. A pet shop in my area tests uvb/a bulbs with a meter I asked them which one they see performing better, and they said the numbers are very close on both but the powersun seems to outlast the solarglo.
I think this was a smart move. You pay twice the price as a solar glo, but it's guaranteed for a year (be sure to send in the warranty) so you're essentially paying for 2 bulbs.
