Yuri's outdoor enclosure

Hello -

Just wanted to share some photos of Yuri's outdoor enclosure. It's right next to the house, so three sides are stucco (he can't dig out!). I made a simple fence out of yard stakes (I'm not skilled at building things) on the other side, and fastened a lip on the top to discourage climbing.

Yes - last November he dug into the earth under the hay in the ferret house, and stayed in until February. I covered it with quilts when the outdoor temps were getting in the low 40's. It's positioned right next to the house, so it is totally protected from rain and wind.

He loves that ferret house - we call it "Yuri's hut." I got it last year, thinking something better (and not pink) would come along, but he loves it so much, I don't want to change it. He goes in and out of it all day, and returns to it every night.

Hi Terry -

"Yuri" is the Russian equivalent of "George" - it means earth worker or farmer.

Earth worker is perfect for the Russian Tort
