Hey guys I just have a quick question. I got a russian tortoise a couple months ago from a friend and they gave me him with a home set up already. As the month and half gone by, the tank smells from his daily business. I want to replace his bark with something new. I have a promo code from Google Express and wanted to grab his bedding there. Would I be able to use these two combined?

NEVER use sand. That is an old outdated relic of the past. Sand is a serious impaction risk and possible skin and eye irritant.

I like the coco coir for small Russians, but I prefer fine grade orchid bark for older ones.

Russians need large enclosures and it makes no sense to buy your substrate from a pet store in tiny over priced bags. You can get the same stuff in bulk at your local nursery for a fraction of the cost.
