Looks like dandelions to me .
I was thinking dandy lion also.
Maybe this is why I can't even grow weeds...lol. I've tried so hard to grow dandelions and fail miserably.
I tried growing them from seed and couldn't do it. Now I just rely on the natural ones. I did take some of the dandelions when they turned to fluff and shook them all over my Russian tortoise outdoor enclosure. It worked because some of them actually came up this year. I can't grow them inside to save my life.

Dandelion or some sort of thistle. Good news is that it's tortoise food. Sorry, (Dawn, you already said thistle.)
I recognize it from some I have growing in my bed with Tortoise Supply Testudo mix.

Not dandelion, although the leaves look the same. This has a cluster of flowers. Dandelion has a single bloom on the end of the stalk.
Probably edible.

And the little white flowers are on top of 1 long stem. Not dandelion or thistle, I am pretty sure. I will look up hawks but. Thank you.

I'm glad to hear I am not the only one who has trouble growing weeds (only tort people can feel your pain...lol)
WOW. Mine have never gotten that big. How long did it take for yours to grow that tall? Mine get mowed down too soon, I really need to make a separate area that Tuleo can't get to and try again...
This is not the same weed. The small flowers on top of the stem with few leaves is white. The base of the weed grows like horse weed, but the leaves are more jagged. I pulled all of them I could. I don't have a good feeling about it. Anyway thanks for your help.

I have these all over my yard, with ten Russians, two sulcatas and a desert tort.... I need all the dandelion flowers and leaves I can find. I don't know the exact scientific name, but this is a variety of dandelion. I grow like the or four differing kinds though I might not be 100%right on the names or sub species, the torts like them and are all 100% Edible. They all have dandelion like leaves, dandelion like flowers with different colors{of yellow} and thickness of petals that if left to long will grow into those cottony puff balls that turn into their seeds and method of transport.
I leave a few every plant just to propagate more growth in the enclosures. Don't know if that's much help but they are double and great for torts to munch. I make leaves and flower with smaller cut up stem peices into a nice tortsalad everyday. They all love the flowers!

I can't figure that app out, so no. Maybe it's a dandelion. The flower throws me though. It is not yellow.
When I used grow vegetables dandelions were a pain in the rear. If I left a tiny bit of the root in they would sprout into a full dandelion. I can,t find this as a method of growing this weed on google anywhere, but it works. Try digging a wild dandelion up and cut the roots into lets say 1" pieces then mix in with some compost, see if they all re-sprout. Tomorrow I'm going to try this as an experiment. I don't have a shortage of dandelions now, but I want to see if it works(I'm 99% sure it will). Hope I don't get any rogue cabbages,onions or parsnips in my dandelion patch. lol
