This is my new dog Poppy. I got her at the Humane Society. She is about two years old. Not sure what kind she is, thinking some kind of jack Russell Minpin cross. Definitely a terrier :)

Definitely a Minpin in the mix! Could be Australian cattle dog(probably not) in there judging by the leg color but other dogs have that coloring too....

We were driving home the other night and saw a dog on the side of the road. A pit mix. He was severely emaciated, covered in sores and ticks and could barely walk. But he was so so sweet. He had a collar, which had a few inch gap showing how much weight he had lost, but no tag. A sheriff took him to the emergency vet but he didn’t have a chip. He was placed on a stray and medical hold at the shelter. The shelter names all the animals, and they named him “Ferdinand”. My fiancé does hvac, and the next day got a job on “Ferdinand court”. We couldn’t stop thinking about him. We have 3 chihuahuas, my smallest only being 3 pounds with a lot of health issues. I talked to our vet who gave us some precautions to look out for if we decided we would try to adopt him. His hold was up today, so he could be seen. Good news is he’s recovering very well, and is very friendly with people, but unfortunately he seems to be aggressive with other dogs. My heart is breaking that we can’t bring him home, but I’m so glad we found him when we did.

the dog looks like a Catahoula pit cross , which is pretty common , for a reason ........ he'll make someone a great dog .......... dog aggression can be fixed within a household , but might be a dangerous learning process with 3 lb dogs around ........

Absolutely adorable dog. What kind of dog is he?
Axle is an Australian Shepherd.

He's been doing great with his socialization and desensitization training. I'm so proud of him :) & sooo looking forward to trick training!

He appeared in his first show a couple of weeks ago. Not a dog show, but an animal show with my mobile educational petting zoo!

Yeah we did some research because we really wanted it to work out, but I just can’t risk it with my little ones. But I’m hopeful he’ll find a good family.
